The club has just received official notification that we have
been awarded €40,000 in lottery funding to assist in
our development in Páirc Charman. Shown above is an
image of the proposed first stage of the pitch development.
The club plans to build an all weather, floodlit playing surface
on the bottom right hand side of the grounds. This will involve
moving the existing playing surface approximately 6 metres
to the left towards the St. Mary's pitch. Work on this has
already begun with the excavation and laying of top soil around
the existing pitch. The sowing of the grass and fencing is
now hoped to begin immediately with the intention of having
the development completed early next year.
The club wishes to acknowledge the assistance given to us
in acquiring this funding by local T.D's Tony Dempsey and
John Browne who were both heavily involved in our application.
Also, a debt of gratitude is owed to the people who put together
the application, in particular Billy and Edel Dodd for the
time and effort they put in in making this a successful bid. |
