Juniors overcome Fethard in Championship replay
The Junior team advanced to the quarter final of the
Junior 'A' championship in Taghmon on Monday following
a hard fought win over Fethard (1-11 to
0-12). Having led by seven points at half-time we should
have gone on to clinch this game quite easily, but a
dogged Fethard team never lay down and were only a goal
down coming into injury time. Then, with time just up,
Lee Walker pulled off a match winning save to push a
goal bound effort over the bar and clinch our place in
the last 8.

A much weakened team due to exams and work
commitments had to face a second game in 72 hours when
we had to play Buffers Alley in a rearranged league
fixture on Wednesday evening. The toll of the last few
days was obvious as we struggled to assert our game and
in the end we were happy to come away with a draw on a
1-5 to 0-8 scoreline.
