Sarsfields 1-9; Duffry Rovers 0-11
A Barry Goff point two and a half minutes into injury
time gave our Seniors a crucial one point win over
Duffry Rovers in the WFC championship losers section.
While the lads deserve great credit for fashioning out
this victory having been a point down at the end of
normal time, it has to be said that our performance was
not good with a lot of passes being misplaced and our
distribution poor.
A draw would probably have been a fair result as neither
team really deserved to lose, but Barry Goff's point ensured
our Senior status and keeps our championship aspirations
alive. We will meet one of the losers of the games from the
winners section which will be played this weekend. Hopefully
the return of players unavailable due to holidays, injury
and suspension will assist our cause. Unfortunately, Darren
Browne suffered a recurrence of his knee injury and we hope
that this is not too serious.
