Seniors advance to quarter finals
A three
point win over Naomh Eanna in Monamolin on Friday last gave
our Seniors
a hard earned victory over a never-say-die
Naomh Eanna outfit in the replay of their third round
championship match. Indeed, midway through the second half
the Gorey men had fought their way back from being seven
points down to lead by a point and at that stage looked to
be heading for victory. However, the sending off of Justin
Kenny with 15 minutes left was just too much for them and,
with Philly Cullen in sparkling form, the Sarsfields went on
to clinch victory on a scoreline of 0-13 to 1-7.

Seniors lucky to hold on for draw
A last minute point by Jason Murphy earned us a draw in a
game that should have been over at half-time. Leading by 4
points at the break, having played against a gale force
wind, hopes were high to team could finish this game off
with plenty to spare. However, the second half was a
complete shambles and but for a lucky Barry Goff goal and
the last minute strike by Jason Murphy we would have been
out of the 2005 championship.
