It was a very productive few days on the playing fields, starting on Thursday last when the Under-14s made a great start to their Division 2 championship campaign with a 5-3 to 3-6 win over Shelmaliers in Hollymount.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Richie Kearney who sustained a foot injury in the game.

Ballymore hosted a very close Minor Division 2 championship clash on Friday last, with the lads showing good spirit to recover from a five-point deficit during the first-half to earn a 1-10 each draw with Our Lady’s Island/St. Fintan’s. John Clancy picked up an injury near the end, and we wish him a speedy recovery too.

The Junior ‘D’ team got off to a good start in the District championship in Hollymount on Sunday morning with a 3-7 to 1-9 win over Shelmaliers. It was possible to give all 25 players a run because the Shels struggled to field a fourth team, but sportingly agreed to give us a game with many of their ‘thirds’ included rather than leaving us idle.
