Shels 'shocked' by rampant Sarsfields Juveniles
Unlike the previous week when they had to fight back
from an 8 point deficit to clinch their semi-final victory,
our Juveniles totally dominated their county final opponents
Shelmaliers to capture the Juvenile crown for the first
time since 1978 on a 2-17 to 2-6 scoreline.
This was as emphatic a victory as the scoreline suggests
and a further 10 point margin would not have flattered
them as they totally outclassed their opponents in one
of the best displays from a Sarsfields underage team in
a long time.
Every player on the night gave an imperious performance
none more so than full-forward Noel Walsh who bagged 2-4
while Lee Wlaker and Dylan Sparrow ran the big man close
for the man-of-the-match award.
Great credit should also go to the mentors of this team,
Sean Siggins, Jim Crowley and Tadgh O'Corcora who, after
a sluggish start, fine tuned this team into a powerful,
cohesive unit capable of beating the best in the county.
