U21's clinch 2004 District title
After a 3 month wait, our U21 team finally
got to play their 2004 District final against Blackwater
in Hollymount on Saturday last and, despite some understandable
rustiness, put in a strong performance to overcome their
opponents on a 2-10 to 0-9 scoreline. Goals from Bobby
Clancy and Philly Cullen were the critical scores but
each and every player gave 100% in pursuit of their goal.
This win now sets them up for a tilt at Craanford
in the County semi-final on St. Patrick's day in Craanford
@ 4pm (Wexford district lost the toss for home advantage).
Hopefully this game will rid the players of any cobwebs
and that they will be firing on all cylinders on Thursday
as there is no doubt that they have the ability to win
this championship and take one adult title back to the
club for 2004 after the disappointment of the Senior champioship
and league defeats.
