Seniors championship quest continues

Despite being without the services of Colin Bent due to injury, our Senior team go into Sunday's quarter-final clash with HWH-Bunclody eager to continue there unbeaten run this year which has seen them win all 6 of their league games and their first 2 championship fixtures. The strength in depth of this squad of players is evident in the competition for places in almost every position on the field and if we can reproduce our best form there is no reason why we shouldn't qualify for our first county semi-final since 2001.

However, a lot of hard work must be done before we can even consider this proposition. The men from Bunclody will pose a serious threat and with former U17 International rules player, Stephen Sheehan and the veteren Mick Mahon amongst their ranks, they too will feel they have the chance to repeat their 2002 victory over us in the qualifiers. However, given the strength of this panel of players and the steely determination that has been evident in many of our games this year, there is every reason to be confident that we can take our place in the draw for the county semi-final.
