U14's fail at semi-final stage
Lack of preparation and the loss of a couple of key players
were the main factors behind the defeat of our U14 team
in the county semi-final on Wednesday last when they went
down to a strong Naomh Éanna team on a 5-6 to 3-4
scoreline. The unavailability of John Cummins and Michael
O'Regan who were both on holidays made this tricky encounter
that much more difficult and although they took the lead
8 minutes into the second half through a Stephen Gannon
goal, we were well beaten for the rest of the game and
the Gorey boys ran out worthy winners.
This team is one of the most skillful teams in the club
and has the potential to bounce back from this defeat
to claim a Juvenile title in a couple of years but they
will have to knuckle down and work hard if they wish to
achieve that goal.
